Panto Season is COMING – Tyne Theatre Panto are getting into the Christmas Spirit!

Radio Shields attended the press launch of Tyne Theatre Panto at Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre & Opera House on Tuesday afternoon.

The cast, including the North East’s own home grown talent – Beth Oxley-Clarke, from Gosforth as Belle, who will be starring alongside singing two singing sensations. A geordie panto won’t be the same without the hilarious Geordie Comics Charlie Richmond as ‘Daveed Granola’ and Lewis Denny as ‘Dame Brenda Brexit’

Enchanted Entertainment will be bringing 54 spellbinding performances of Beauty & the Beast to the Tyne Theatre & Opera House from 9th December 2022 – 8th January 2023. The pantomime will feature a famntastic live band and, back by popular demand at The Tyne Theatre panto, AMAZING 3D! especially designed for children in the audience. As always, the show will be packed with a host of top stars, including international singers Union J;s JJ Hamblett, who is playing Prince/Beast and Amelle Berrabah from best-selling girl group Sugababes as Good Fairy.

Amelle Berrabah – Good Fairy

Back in 2005, Amelle started her career in one of the coolest girl groups of them all…Sugababes.

In total Sugababes had 6 UK number 1 singles and 2 UK number 1 Albums as well as huge success worldwide. Second only to girl group Spice Girls for the most UK number 1s, Sugababes singles spent a massive total of 178 weeks in the UK Chart Top 40!

Amelle also achieved a solo number one with “Never Leave You”, her collaboration with Tinchy Stryder which was the biggest selling single of 2009. She also created a successful career as an established TV presenter with credits including the BBC show “Tumble” while her drama credits include the blockbuster movie “Plastic” starring alongside’Game of Thornes’ star Alfie Allen.

Amelle told Radio Shields that she is looking forward to staying in Newcastle with her daughter and exploring the city when she’s not on stage.
