Musical Production Company presents Fiddler on the Roof
Newcastle production company WEOS (West End Operatic Society) is getting ready to entertain people at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House with their performance of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ a show based on Sholem Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl who was an American playwright, screenwriter, television producer and television writer.
Fiddler on the Roof is about a gentleman called Tevye who is a poor Jewish peasant living in Anatevka, and is faced with the challenge of marrying off his five daughters amidst the growing tension in his village.
Classic songs such as Tradition, Sunrise, Sunset and Matchmaker, the story projects the strong influence of being reliant on tradition and faith in times of change and turbulence.
