True Colours Theatre now has it’s own home!

Hundreds of tradespeople volunteered their time for the project, which has created an accessible space for True Colours’ members.

This is the derelict building in Wallsend, North Tynesude that has been given a stunning makeover by BBC 1’s DIY SOS and Strictly Come Dancing stars to create a “safe space” for a the North East based charity.

True Colours Theatre, teaches more than just singing, dancing, acting, and theatrics. Essential skills that seem out of reach for our kids become second nature after working with TCTCS. As they move from our classrooms and out into the wider community, they take the skills they learned here and apply them to everyday life. TCTCS equips its students with the confidence to join teams, build friendships, express themselves, and have empathy for others. What a wonderful world we would live in if we all learned these skills.

The theatre school appeard on BBC One Show on Wednesday August 30, as Nick Knowles, Anton Du Beke, and others unveiled the results of a six-day build. Hundreds of tradespeople descended on the former boys’ club in Wallsend to transform it into an accessible space with a dance studio, café, sensory room, and sensory garden.
